So sad, as he struggled with his addiction for so many years despite the attempts by others to help him.

So tragic . . . far too many overdoses! What the heck. I think overdosing has become more threatening than natural death.

It breaks my heart for his family and friends watching him struggle with his demons all these years, only to have his demons win. I hope Corey and those who loved him find peace.

This is sad, he tried to get some help, and it just took over him.

Makes me wonder about thier health care system.  
 
In canada we have the PHIN which is supposed to help track prescription medication usage. Do they not have the same sort of thing in the states?  
 
And if so, then would that not make the doctor prescribing, or the pharmacy who fills it also part of the problem?  
 
Im sure if I went down to the local super thrifty or shoppers drug mart, and had pain killer after pain killer, I would be red flagged and not allowed to purchase anymore.  

you can't go to walk-ins and receive barbiturates/narcotis from a doctor, those must be perscribed by your family doctor only or at least in MB I have seen that sign in waiting rooms both in Bdn and Peg.  
 
I think in the states it's big biz to sell script drugs on the street and probably fairly easy to get, so I would assume he got them from an illegal source rather then Dr. perscribed.

aw I loved corey Haim in License to Drive he was so cute I had the biggest crush on him. RIP babe I guess his demons got the best of him so sad

there is a video clip of TMZ speaking to Corey and he looks so healthy and seems like he was looking forward to some future projects. He was also in a movie due out in April. His best friend Corey Feldman also released a statement.

I'am very sad to hear that all these celelbrities  
are blowing their lives to take chances on things  
like prescription drugs and drugs in general, thats not cool or courageous.

I always enjoyed the two Coreys, but I have no sympathy for young rich celebs that piss thier lives and talent away on drugs. No tragedy here.

I really like that John , really hope he's gotten away from the possibility of this very thing happening to him.

I don't know if anyone here follows Bill Simmons on Twitter, but he tweeted that the only silver lining about Corey Haim's death is that Corey Feldman is now going to insist on singing at the funeral.  
 
I admit it's a little soon to be cracking jokes about the departed, but there's never an inappropriate time to rip on Corey Feldman.

according to one of the gossip sites, that she received a courtesy call from the coroner who explained that Corey had pulmonary congestion - an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs, though he's not saying that is what killed him just yet. Could end up being that drugs had nothing to do with his death after all.
