split (clamshell) the cast before you fly so it doesn't get tight on you at 36,000 ft, where no one has a cast cutter..

I did it

I broke my foot in early December and flew to Calgary at Xmas time. No problem. By that point I had a walking boot, so wasn't such a bother with just a half cast and crutches. Good luck.

Split cast

Yeah, that won't raise any suspicions from the already hyper paranoid airport security...lol
A cast with a slit down the side....hmmm
Can anyone say cavity search! lol

both coming and going. Set off the alarm bells...lol. Lots of fun.
Course, it was just in Canada...hate to know what it's like elsewhere..

Shouldn't

be a problem...did you get hardware put in? Might set off the security alarms.

Plan ahead

Metal surgical implants may also set off detectors, bring a note from a doctor to avoid hang ups due to increased security precautions.
