West End gas station

Has anyone heard of any full service gas stations coming back to the west end. I miss Turbo!!!! When I have a sleeping child in the back of my car it was really really nice not to have to get out to pump and go in to pay. We live in Kemnay and both of us work in the extreme west end. 7-11 is ok, and PetroCanada is 1/2 way to 18th street and neither are full service). The good ol' full sevice of Turbo is surely missed by more than just myself.

Co-op

I think if full serve is real important to you then driving to co-op should be easy to do.

I'll drive out of my way...

......to have someone pump my gas for me. I really hate getting gas on my gloves or mitts, (yes I'm a clutz!) I second Co-op for a good choice, great service and you can get a car wash there too!

Petro Canada

I too have a small child, so I use Petro Canada, just pay at the pump. I live out to the west past Kemnay too, it's the closest, convenient one for me.

Co-op on Richmond

I wouldn't recommend them at all. The last time I went I was told by an old gas jockey that he wouldn't pump my gas because "you always park too close to the pump". At first I thought he was joking, but when I asked the second time, he said the same thing. So I said fine I will go somewhere else. Of course he didn't want to hear that, and I think he was a bit surprised when I started my car and pulled away. That particular guy doesn't appear to like his job. I don't use that location very often, only when my son is with me (will not go back. Curious to know if anyone else has had issues with that guy. Anywho, if my son is with me I now go to Fas Gas (right beside Co-op), it's full serve and they are very nice.

I miss Turbo too :(

I've also been going to Co-Op on Richmond - they've been fine, but often there is a huge line up there.

I'll have to check out Fast Gas too - didn't realize they are also full service!

What ever happened to..??

Does anyone know what happened to Turbo? Why did it close down? We were going down 34th street toward turbo to get gas one day, and seen the fence up around it!

It explains most of what happened.

Full serve

My wife also hates pumping her own gas. We live very close to the old Turbo location and always used to go there. Now we use the Coop on 18th Street N. near Andrews Field. The service there is fantastic. As long as we don't catch a train on 26th Street, it is very quick to take the back way there from the west end.

Turbo to Co-op

Once Turbo closed down, I switched to Co-op. I have never had a problem with the staff. Always find them pleasant. Not sure what guy you got such bad service from, but perhaps you should have told the manager

..

To the person that no longer uses co-op due to the older man.. I know which guy you are talking about and has it ever occured to you that maybe you did pull up to close to the pump.. you have to remember that he is an older guy trying to make a living and maybe its a little hard for him to squeeze in there and do his job when u pull up this close.. there is nothing worse then a stuck up inconsiderate customer like yourself..

Evidently you have very thin skin. I was giving my opinion/experience with this particular gas station and you seemed to take it very personal. Who knows, maybe you are who I'm taking about. I actually LOOKED to see how close I was to the pump and my tires where AT LEAST 3' from the pump. About 1' further from the pump than the car ahead of me.
How does that make me an inconsiderate costumer? And how dare you call me an inconsiderate costumer!!! I could see if there was absolutely NO room to access my gas tank, aswk me politely to move. Don't ACCUSE me of ALWAYS parking to close!! Also, as a PAYING customer, contributing to his wages, doesn't that mean he should treat ME with respect?! I never said anythng inappropriate or rude to him, as my son was in the car. If he can't do his job and treat customers with respect, maybe that's no the job for him. Also, he said "you always park too close". First of all I go to that location MAYBE once a month (not anymore), how on earth is he going to remember me from pumping my gas at most once per month? (He's not always there or doesn't serve me all of the time when I go) I have heard of several other people having problems with this same man. He slowly walks around without a care in the world, taking his time approaching vehicles. He may not have anthing better to do, but the customer may have.
If you are going to respond to this again, I suggest you look at this situation with an open mind and don't accuse me of being inconsiderate. Still not sure how you came to that conclusion. Maybe it's your "word of the day", if that's the case I might suggest referring to a dictionary or thesaurus prior to using words you don't understand! Big words only make you sound intelligent when you know how to use them properly.

silly question.......

Just a thought.....is it possible that he's rude to you, and remembers you all the time, because he's resentful - and you look like you're rich??

Some people are like this, and just don't like people who are obviously well-off. By chance is your vehicle especially noticeable, like an SUV Lexus or Escalade?

Good point

That is a very valid point. One that I never would have considered. However, I do not own an extremely expensive vehicle (like the Escalade, Lexus, etc. It's a mini van, and not a foreign one. I don't think I appear to look or act "rich" in any way, because that's simply not who I am.
It really doesn't matter, because I will not be getting gas there anymore. I was just giving my opinion/experience for the person who started this thread. And now it has turned into me being a "stuck up, inconsiderate costumer", isn't that right Derrek123456?

Mohawk

Just to let everyone know both Mohawks are full serve...the one on first street does have two self-serve pumps and 8 full serve. The staff there is excellent and I've never had issues with their service. They even offer to clean windows and check the oil for you..not many left that do that anymore either!

Mohawk & CAA

I am a loyal Mowhawk and CAA member. I use my CAA Credit Card and CAA Membership Card for a marginal discount that adds up towards my CAA membership. Unfortunately they are not in the west end. I do make the trip to the 1st street station, biweekly. I have a record of all my transactions on that credit card for my gas. Infact I use the CAA credit card for oil changes, car repairs and such. It is a dedidicated card just for my auto, (Chevy Metro aka puddle jumper). MOHAWK moves to the west end, please. Your staff and customers need service in the West. Thanks for your time and reading.
